Hi! I’m Marie Underwood.
I'm a photographer from southeastern Michigan with a passion for sports! Currently, I'm a photo intern with the Arizona Diamondbacks. I have a Bachelor of Applied Arts in photojournalism with a minor in multimedia design from Central Michigan University.
Borrowing my middle school’s yearbook camera sparked the beginning of my visual storytelling journey. Photographing my little brother’s football and basketball games turned into a challenge of capturing split-second moments-a challenge I grew to crave. Freezing these moments in time with a camera is beautiful, and it’s the very reason why I chose to go into photojournalism.
Joining my high school yearbook staff, I instantly found a love for sports photography. Growing up playing basketball and softball, I eagerly took any opportunity to cover sports because I loved the environment. The love only grew as I continued to cover sports with my college newspapers, CM-Life and Monroe County Community College's The Agora
I love documenting life through my lens, and I'm excited to continue wherever my journey takes me.
